Just finished Diviners by Libba Bray and what can I say....it blew me away! It is a fabulously well written, detail-packed book that easily transports the reader back in time to New York City in the times of the Ziegfield girls, speakeasies and bob flapper haircuts. The main character, Evie O'Neill, has a special talent, one that gets her kicked out of her home in Ohio and results in her going to live in the big city of New York with her Uncle Will. Evie is more than thrilled with the prospect of a change in scenery. Evie is a free-spirited, fun, and playful girl that wants nothing more than to find fun and excitement in NYC. She does indeed find fun ...but also much, much more.
